Dr. Mori Speakman, MD

Dr. Mori Speakman is an incoming board-certified family medicine physician at North Platte Valley Medical Center, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to patient care. Born and raised in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, Mori developed a passion for medicine inspired by the values of their close-knit rural community.

Mori’s academic journey began at Snow College, where he earned an undergraduate degree, followed by further studies at the University of Utah. He continued at the University of Utah for medical school, honing his skills and commitment to compassionate healthcare. Mori completed his family medicine residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he gained extensive training in providing comprehensive care across diverse patient populations.

As a physician in the military, Dr. Speakman served in multiple locations, including deployments to Germany and Afghanistan, as well as assignments at Fort Drum, New York, and Cedar City, Utah. These experiences strengthened his ability to deliver high-quality care in challenging and varied settings, fostering a deep commitment to serving communities with diverse needs. Board-certified in family medicine, Mori brings expertise and a patient-centered approach to his practice at North Platte Valley Medical Center.

Dr. Speakman is dedicated to fostering strong patient relationships and promoting health through preventive care, chronic disease management, and holistic wellness. He looks forward to contributing to the North Platte Valley community, bringing professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to excellence to his role.

His passions outside of patient care include general aviation, astronomy and travel, as well as camping with his family. Tonya has worked as a traveling physical therapist for more than 13 years and is currently seeing physical therapy patients at the North Platte Valley Medical Center through next summer.

Tonya loves working in small communities like the Platte Valley because of the close knit atmosphere. Her travels have taken her to a diversity of work environments in places like California, Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, Washington and Wyoming.

“Atlantic City, WY is home though, so always feels good to cross into the WY borders to work,” Tonya says. The tiny town is located in Fremont County and boasts a population of 31.

Tonya travels with her husband, Neil, and cat, Inde, who goes for walks on a leash. In her free time, Tonya enjoys outdoor recreation such as road biking, mountain climbing/hiking, backpacking and kayaking.

Tonya has experience working with patients that have orthopedic, chronic, and neurological conditions. It is her goal to address each patient’s individual needs. Call (307) 326-3169 for an appointment.

Born and raised in West Virginia, Chris graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Biology in 1994. He moved to Wyoming in 1997 to work in Yellowstone National Park. Chris then completed the Interservice Physician Assistant Program in 2006 and has worked primarily in urgent care and emergency medicine settings since he transitioned over to medicine.

Chris enjoys the outdoors, attending concerts and comedy shows, as well as spending time with his fiancée and daughters. He is excited to see patients at the North Platte Valley Medical Center and provide care to this wonderful community.

After an illustrious career in the military, Mike transitioned to civilian life, continuing to serve the community with the same vigor and dedication. Known for his calm demeanor and ability to thrive in high-stress environments, he has earned the respect of both colleagues and patients alike.

Retirement from the US Army hasn’t slowed him down; instead, it has allowed Mike to bring his expertise to new heights, ensuring that his legacy of exceptional care endures.
