, Martin brings focus on women’s health to the valley, North Platte Valley Medical Center

Jolena Martin, a physician assistant with 18 years of experience and a passion for women’s healthcare, is now accepting new patients at the Platte Valley Clinic located inside the NPVMC.

Martin has a wide range of clinical experience in primary care, family practice,
obstetrics/gynecology, and urgent care. Martin completed her studies at Southern Illinois
University-Carbondale and spent six years gaining OB/GYN experience at Effingham Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates and the Christie Clinic in Eastern Illinois. Martin is also no stranger to Wyoming, as she spent two years working as a PA at Dr. Carol A. Fischer Family Practice in Cheyenne.

Thorough, compassionate and patient-focused care are top priorities for Martin. When it comes to practicing women’s health, Martin believes patient care does not only include standard exams, it is an all-encompassing style of practice to address any and all women’s health concerns.

When it comes to the physical, mental, and emotional issues that women face, Martin says, “Sometimes, it just takes another woman who understands.” Martin and her family moved to the valley from Tyler, TX where Martin provided urgent care to patients at UT Health East Texas. Her husband, Steve, a veteran and also a physician assistant, is a full time ER provider at the North Platte Valley Medical Center.

Outside of being a PA, Martin enjoys reading, music, singing, spending quality time with Steve, their four children and two dogs in the outdoors, and being involved with a church.

In addition to Jolena Martin, Women’s Health specialists from Ivinson Memorial Hospital visit NPVMC on a weekly and monthly basis. View our Visiting Provider’s Schedule for appointment information.
